Description
SAIC is seeking a Senior Field Engineer to support our NAVWAR customer in Portsmouth, VA.
Job Duties:
- Deploys Servers and Software solutions to maintain customer equipment.
- Complete patches on server and backbone infrastructure of communication systems.
- Troubleshoot timing system elements and correct RF connectivity issues.
- Complete Bit Error Rate Test (BERT) to troubleshoot networks and serial lines.
- Complete in lab testing of developed solutions for Q/A prior to deployment.
- Conducts technical analysis of product implementations, modifications and enhancements to product in accordance with specific customer specifications and implementations.
- Troubleshoots technical problems and issues, determines technical solution in accordance with product and customer specifications.
- Assesses product needs in accordance with customer specifications.
- Acts as local on-site representative to customer organization.
- Participates in site system integrations.
- Updates system and process documentation as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors plus five 5 years or more experience OR T echnical Training in Electronics, Computers, or Networking or successful completion of U.S. Navy electronics "C" school and eight 8 years or more experience.
- Experience in C4I Systems environments to include: systems requirements, operational requirements, test and evaluation.
- Experience building and installing infrastructure.
- Must be able to obtain a CompTIA Security , CISSP, or CASP certification within 6 months of hire.
- Must have an active Secret security clearance to start and able to obtain a Top Secret clearance.
- Must be able to obtain U.S. Passport.
- Up to 25% CONOCONUS travel required.
Covid Policy: SAIC does not require COVID-19 vaccinations or boosters. Customer site vaccination requirements must be followed when work is performed at a customer site.
